- How is God different then Genie?
1) God Is In The Form of Man.
"Say, you're a lot smaller than my last master. Either that, or I'm getting bigger. Look at me from the side. Do I look different to you?" - Genie
When Genie emerged from the lamp after a long time of waiting, Aladdin found something completely new. It may seem that we discover something new when we find God but actually we really are just becoming reacquainted with Him and His plan. A part of God's plan for us is to know who He is and what He looks like.
We learn that in the beginning "God created man in his own image... [both] male and female" (Genesis 1:27). We also read the word's of Jesus Christ, which say: "he that hath seen me hath seen the Father" (John 14:19). From these two references we learn that God created us, as well as His Son, in the likeness of His own image.
Does He look like a big blue genie or something totally different then what we look like? No, not at all! Does he look different then us? Yes - He is a glorified and perfected being (God). Do we look "like" Him? Yes.
Once we know and believe that we are made in God's image, God no longer is some mysterious, invisible, intangible being. While we do not see Him at this present time and to us it may seem as if He is invisible, having the knowledge that we are created in His image gives our lives a rich purpose - a purpose that God knew we needed to fulfill having a body like His.
I love this wonderful fact about God's plan that He wanted us to be made in His image, to look like He does, to have the bodily functions and capabilities as He has. Before this life we used to live with God as His spirit children. The key word there is "spirit". Jesus Christ tells us that "a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have" (Luke 24:39). Before this life, we did not have a body but God wanted us to. Thus, He created the earth and our bodies to live and grow in. And so, here we are, living the life God gave us! Making friends, learning and growing, watching Disney movies, creating faith in Christ, so we can return and live with Him someday with what will then be a perfected body.
